About Kirsten Samples, PA-C

Kirsten Samples is a Board Certified Physician Assistant. She graduated from Ohio State University in August 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. She moved to Florida gaining clinical experience as a technician at Jupiter Medical Center. Kirsten went on to attend Nova Southeastern University’s PA Program where she was bestowed the honor of class president. She received a Masters in Medical Science with highest honors.

Kirsten has joined Elite Coastal Healthcare in 2017. She has become a new valued addition to our patients and practice assisting in delivering compassionate, high quality medical care as well as HEDIS, MRP, and QERP compliance management.

What is a Physician Assistant?

A physician assistant (PA) is a healthcare professional licensed to practice medicine with supervision by a licensed physician. PAs focus on prevention & treatment of human illness & injury by providing a broad range of health care services that are traditionally performed by physicians. PAs perform physical exams, diagnose & treat illnesses, order & interpret labs, imaging & other diagnostic tests, counsel patients about wellness & preventive health care, assist in surgery, & prescribe medications.Physician assistants exercise autonomy in medical decision making as determined by their supervising physician. Like Medical Doctors (MDs), PAs are educated in the medical model, designed to complement physician training. PAs are not to be confused with medical assistants, who perform administrative & simple clinical tasks with limited college-level education in hospitals & clinics under the direct supervision of physicians, registered nurses,NP’s, & PA’s.
